Wild Life & Not so wild life!

The Park is home to quite a few pets. Presently there are Vietnamese pot bellied pigs, Indian runner ducks, Golden Jersey goats, Shetland ponies, chickens, cats and dogs. All are utterly spoilt and a must for all children and pet lovers to seek out and admire.

Over recent years we have been actively encouraging more wildlife to Castlerigg, and we’re pleased to report that it’s been working a treat ! Thanks to all our red squirrel feeding boxes, bird boxes and bug boxes, our planting of Buddleias, plus our leaving some areas unmown, the wildlife keeps coming. So you might well see wild deer, red squirrels, badgers, owls, ospreys and a myriad of butterflies, bees and birds during your visit.
