The Lake District

Just close by…

Castlerigg Hall occupies a superb position in the heart of magnificent Lakeland countryside. Numerous scenic walks from the Park present breathtaking views, while just nearby is the fascinating Castlerigg Stone Circle, thought to date back some 4000 years.

Climbing, golf, pony trekking, fishing and all kinds of watersports are available close by, while for the less energetic Keswick has a variety of museums, leisure pool, theatre, cinema, relaxing parks and gardens and a wealth of interesting shops. There is also a wide variety of restaurants, inns and cafes in Keswick and the surrounding villages where you can sample such specialities as Cumberland sausage, Windermere char, Borrowdale tea bread and Grasmere gingerbread.

In whichever direction you travel from Keswick you will discover stunning countryside and a wealth of interesting places to visit including Lake Windermere and Hadrian’s Wall.
